Joomla Websites
I developed my first commercial html web-site for a client way back in the days of the 'Mosaic' web browser, even before Netscape. I quickly realised that while I had the 'techie' skills to write the code, I lacked the creative design talent that would be necessary to create really effective web-sites.
I had developed and was informally maintaining several html web-sites for various friends and non-profit groups but these were fairly static information pages because editing the html to accommodate emerging needs was so time consuming.
Eventually it became obvious that the needs of our Transition The Grove web-site were growing beyond me html capabilities and I reluctantly faced the learning curve for the Joomla open-source Content Management System.
It's been a most rewarding experience and has enabled me, in retirement, to make a contribution to some of the non-profit groups I support.
Some examples:
The Wooden Boat Association of Queensland - http://www.woodenboat.org.au/
Asperger Services Australia - http://www.asperger.asn.au/
Radio YYY 87.6 FM - http://www.yyyfm.org.au/
